So what can we learn from the Downing Street pantomime in so far as taxes? Well first things first Starmer strongly denied authorising the briefing against his colleagues. The fact they happened means he either lied or they did it against his wishes. Neither is a good look for someone trying to portray being in control.
How does this affect as though and what does it say about his leadership rivals?
Well the rumour is they’re all lined up to take him down post budget. Strange timing. If they think the job he is doing is bad why not get in with it? What will change between now and a few weeks time?
Well I can’t help but think that they know what’s coming, know it will be horribly unpopular, are going to let it happen anyway purely to make Starmer look weaker.
I hope I’m wrong mind but if I’m right this means they new leadership hopefuls put their place at the top ahead of the country.
No surprise there you might say…
Whatever happens I will be digesting what it means for property people and giving an update at the GB Landlords all day event the day after. If you don’t have a ticket yet then you should hurry. There aren’t many left. Book here.
